We’ve tried to make this easy on you by writing them to be as clear and concise as possible. Bear with us when we use some dense phrases. It’s unavoidable sometimes when we want to be very clear. If you’d prefer a printable version, just click here.

When you access our website, you are agreeing to be bound by the terms of this agreement. You’re also agreeing to be bound by the laws and regulations that are relevant to these terms. If you don’t agree to abide by all of these terms, laws, and regulations, Juris prohibits you from accessing or using this site.
We want to be able to improve any flaws or fill any holes in this agreement in the future. We’ll also want to change it as our company and/or services change. So we reserve the right to change this Terms of Service whenever we want. We don’t want to bug you every time we make a small change, so we won’t notify you when this happens. When it’s a big change, however, we’ll notify you by posting a notice on our website. After any change we make, your continued use of our website will signify that you agree to the new Terms of Service. At the bottom of this agreement, we’ll post when the latest version was instituted.
For purposes of this agreement, “Juris” means Juris, PBC, a Delaware public benefit corporation, as well as its subsidiaries.
Juris is not a law firm or an attorney. Juris may not perform services performed by an attorney, and its services are not a substitute for the advice or services of an attorney. As such, no attorney-client relationship is formed and no duty of confidentiality or privilege arises between Juris and the users of Juris.
Juris is not an attorney referral service, employment agency, or government body.
DebtSettle is a self-help service with general information and assistance only. It is the sole responsibility of users to determine and approve what they communicate in the letters they send using DebtSettle. Juris bears no liability for any harms or damage that come to users as a result of using DebtSettle.
Juris does not make any kind of guarantee about the quality of the work done by users on Juris and is not liable for any damages relating to anyone’s reliance on such work. It is the responsibility of the users to assess the quality of the work done by other users and to take precautions before using the work product of another user.
The users of Juris are not employees, agents, or independent contractors of Juris.
We reserve the right at any time and from time to time to modify or discontinue, temporarily or permanently, the website (or any part of it) with or without notice.
You retain ultimate administrative control over your user account and the content within it but this control is subject to these rules.
5.1. You must be a human to create an account. Accounts registered by “bots” or other automated methods are not permitted.
5.2. One person or legal entity may maintain no more than one account.
5.3. Your login may only be used by one person — i.e., a single login may not be shared by multiple people. A paid organization may only provide access to as many user accounts as your subscription allows.
5.4. You must be age 13 or older so we can comply with United States law. Juris does not target our service to children under 13, and we do not permit any users under 13 on our Service. If we learn of any user under the age of 13, we will terminate that user’s account immediately. If you are a resident of a country outside the United States, your country’s minimum age may be older; in such a case, you are responsible for complying with your country’s laws.
5.5. You are responsible for keeping your account secure while you use our service. We offer tools to help you maintain your account’s security, but the content of your account and its security are up to you. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and password. You will promptly notify Juris if you become aware of any unauthorized use of, or access to, our service through your account, including any unauthorized use of your password or account. Juris cannot and will not be liable for any loss or damage from your failure to comply with this security obligation.
5.6. You are responsible for all content posted and activity that occurs under your account (even when content is posted by others who have accounts under your account).
Here are some rules you agree to follow when using the Juris service.
6.1. You agree to comply with laws and regulations. Your use of our website and service must not violate any applicable laws, including copyright or trademark laws, export control laws, or other laws in your jurisdiction. You are responsible for making sure that your use of the service is in compliance with laws and any applicable regulations.
6.2. You agree to not post certain content. You agree that you will not under any circumstances upload, post, host, or transmit any content that: (i) is unlawful or promotes unlawful activities; (ii) is or contains sexually obscene content; (iii) is libelous, defamatory, or fraudulent; (iv) is discriminatory or abusive toward any individual or group; (v) contains or installs any active malware or exploits, or uses our platform for exploit delivery (such as part of a command and control system); or (vi) infringes on any proprietary right of any party, including patent, trademark, trade secret, copyright, right of publicity, or other rights.
6.3. You agree to not conduct yourself in certain ways. While using Juris, you agree that you will not under any circumstances: (i) harass, abuse, threaten, or incite violence towards any individual or group, including Juris employees, officers, and agents, or other Juris users; (ii) use our servers for any form of excessive automated bulk activity (for example, spamming), or relay any other form of unsolicited advertising or solicitation through our servers, such as get-rich-quick schemes; (iv) attempt to disrupt or tamper with Juris’ servers in ways that could harm our website or service, to place undue burden on Juris’ servers through automated means, or to access Juris’ service in ways that exceed your authorization; (v) impersonate any person or entity, including any of our employees or representatives, including through false association with Juris, or by fraudulently misrepresenting your identity or site’s purpose; or (vi) violate the privacy of any third party, such as by posting another person’s personal information without consent.
6.4. You agree not to reproduce, duplicate, copy, sell, resell or exploit any portion of the Juris service, use of the service, or access to the service without Juris’ express written permission.
To ensure all users of DebtLetter and DepositLetter have a great experience, users are covered by our Money Back Guarantee for 30 days from the date of their purchase.
If you paid for a DebtLetter or a DepositLetter, and are unsatisfied with your purchase, please email firstname.lastname@example.org with your name, the date of your purchase, and a reasonable explanation for why you are requesting your money back. After your refund is approved by someone on our team, we will refund your full purchase price.
Juris has the right to suspend or terminate your access to all or any part of the website at any time, with or without cause, with or without notice, effective immediately. Juris reserves the right to refuse service to anyone for any reason at any time. All provisions of this agreement which by their nature should survive termination will survive termination, including, without limitation, ownership provisions, warranty disclaimers, indemnity, and limitations of liability.
Juris does not approve the content that users post. It is possible that some users may post content that infringes on others’ copyrights. If you believe that content on our website violates your copyright, please contact us by emailing email@example.com in accordance with our Copyright & DMCA Policy. Be aware that if you send a false or frivolous takedown notice, there may be legal consequences. Before sending a takedown request, you must consider legal uses such as fair use and licensed uses. If we determine that a user is a repeat infringer of our Copyright and DMCA Policy, we will terminate their Juris account.
Our website makes accessible some intellectual property owned by Juris and some intellectual property owned by others. Here are the rules you agree to follow regarding that intellectual property.
10.2. If you’d like to use Juris’ trademarks, you must follow all of our trademark guidelines.
10.3. Unless stated otherwise, Juris grants you permission to temporarily download one copy of the materials (information or software) on Juris’ website for personal, non-commercial transitory viewing only. This is the grant of a license, not a transfer of title, and under this license you may not: (i) modify or copy the materials; (ii) use the materials for any commercial purpose, or for any public display (commercial or non-commercial); (iii) attempt to decompile or reverse engineer any software contained on Juris’ website; (iv) remove any copyright or other proprietary notations from the materials; or (v) transfer the materials to another person or “mirror” the materials on any other server. This license shall automatically terminate if you violate any of these restrictions and may be terminated by Juris at any time. Upon terminating your viewing of these materials or upon the termination of this license, you must destroy any downloaded materials in your possession whether in electronic or printed format.
11.1. The materials on Juris’ website are provided on an “as is” basis. Juris makes no warranties, expressed or implied, and hereby disclaims and negates all other warranties including, without limitation, implied warranties or conditions of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement of intellectual property or other violation of rights.
11.2. Juris does not warrant or make any representations concerning the accuracy, likely results, or reliability of the use of the content on its website or otherwise relating to such content or on any sites linked to this site. The content appearing on Juris’ website could include technical, typographical, or photographic errors. Juris does not warrant that any of the content on its website is accurate, complete or current. Juris may make changes to the content contained on its website at any time without notice. Juris does not make any commitment to update the content.
11.3. Juris has not reviewed all of the sites linked to its website and is not responsible for the contents of any such linked site. The inclusion of any link does not imply endorsement by Juris of the site. Use of any such linked website is at the user’s own risk
12.1. You agree that Juris will not be liable to you or any third party for any loss of money, use, goodwill, or data, or for any incidental, indirect, special, consequential or exemplary damages, however arising, that result from (i) the use, disclosure, or display of any user-generated content; (ii) your use or inability to use the Juris service; (iii) any modification, price change, suspension or discontinuance of the service; (iv) the service generally or the software or systems that make the service available; (v) unauthorized access to or alterations of your transmissions or data; (vi) statements or conduct of any third party on the service; (vii) any other user interactions that you input or receive through your use of the service; or (viii) any other matter relating to the service.
12.2. Our liability is limited whether or not we have been informed of the possibility of such damages, and even if a remedy set forth in this agreement is found to have failed of its essential purpose. We will have no liability for any failure or delay due to matters beyond our reasonable control.
If you have a dispute with one or more users, you agree to release Juris from any and all claims, demands and damages (actual and consequential) of every kind and nature, known and unknown, arising out of or in any way connected with such disputes. You agree to indemnify us, defend us, and hold us harmless from and against any and all claims, liabilities, and expenses, including attorneys’ fees, arising out of your use of the website and the service, including but not limited to your violation of this agreement, provided that Juris (1) promptly gives you written notice of the claim, demand, suit or proceeding; (2) gives you sole control of the defense and settlement of the claim, demand, suit or proceeding (provided that you may not settle any claim, demand, suit or proceeding unless the settlement unconditionally releases Juris of all liability); and (3) provides to you all reasonable assistance, at your expense.
If any part of this agreement is held invalid or unenforceable, that portion of the agreement will be construed to reflect the parties’ original intent. The remaining portions will remain in full force and effect.
Any failure on the part of Juris to enforce any provision of this agreement will not be considered a waiver of our right to enforce such provision. Our rights under this agreement will survive any termination of this agreement.
These terms and conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of California and you irrevocably submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in that State or location.
